OK, so I'm a little slow. It took me a year to download
Clay's podcasts and listen to them, so I presume that I am the only animation geek to not have tuned in since it started. Oops.
I have been listening to the conversations in the car on my way to and from work. Very interesting stuff, and I would definitely recommend grabbing the entire series. The production values are high, which is something I wasn't expecting, for some reason. I think I erroneously assumed that 'recorded at home' would equate to dodgyness. At least, that's how it would be if I did it, and it's good to be proved wrong.
It also serves to highlight just how small the animation industry is, for with the exception of Disney CG Sup Eamonn Butler, my cube mate, the great Louie-D, has worked with all of the people interviewed thus far. Weird, eh? My current favourite thing is to listen to the podcast and then ask Lou about the person. He's a mine of great info and anecdotes, this one, but you have to know the right questions to ask to unlock his brain. The podcast gives me some good ammo to open the proceedings!
Nice job, Clay!
