Hi Kevan, just read your post on Murch's theory on BLINKS - so glad someone else pointed this out too, it's totally pertinent to animation. I've tried to make Hans Bacher aware of this book over on his blog a while back but he didn't seem interested in the EDITING stage of animation. Murch's technique of pinning up a frame from each scene as a kind of storyboard to reveal new relationships between scenes & sequences is something that animation artists have known for a long time. Colour scripts are based on this format. Animation & film theory should overlap MORE -
I have to put it - all words and opinions expressed on this site are my own and do not represent those of the nice company that pays me money to move computer-generated characters around.
